How do I share my story with Stories We Remember? #
Submitting your story is simple, meaningful, and secure. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Visit the Submission Page #
Go to Stories We Remember – Add Your Story and begin entering your story. You’ll be guided through a form to help you reflect and write at your own pace.
Step 2: Choose Your Themes #
You’ll be asked to select:
A Time Period (e.g., The Civil Rights Era, Post-9/11, The Trump Years)
A Category (e.g., Health, Education, Veterans, Family, Resistance)
A Voice (e.g., My Story, My Parent’s Story, I Witnessed…)
These help us organize and preserve your story with care.
Step 3: Write or Paste Your Story #
You can write directly in the form or paste from another document. There’s no minimum word count, some stories are just a few paragraphs, while others span several pages. A story around 800 words often allows for a strong emotional arc, but what matters most is telling it truthfully, in your own words.
💡 Tip: Use the “Save and Resume Later” option if you need more time.
Step 4: Add a Photo (Optional but encouraged) #
You can upload an image (1-2 MB/JPEG/PNG/GIF) to accompany your story, perhaps a portrait, artifact, or meaningful place, to help bring your memory to life..
Step 5: Submit with One Click #
When you’re ready, click “Submit My Story.” You’ll receive a confirmation email, and our editorial team will review it. We may reach out if we have questions or would like to feature your story.
Is my story safe and protected? #
Yes. All stories are stored securely. You retain ownership of your words. We take privacy, attribution, and consent seriously.
