What Are Calls for Stories? #
From time to time, we’ll announce a Call for Stories — a focused invitation to share experiences around a specific theme, event, or value.
These calls are opportunities to gather powerful story collections that speak to the same topic, but through different voices, time periods, and perspectives.
Think of it as creating a collage of lived truth — a way to compare, contrast, and reflect on what connects us across generations and communities.
For example:
- 🗳️ “The First Time I Voted” might include a grandmother’s memory from 1964 and a teen’s first vote in 2024.
- 💔 “When the System Failed Me” could reveal stories from veterans, single parents, or immigrants — each with a different lens on injustice.
- 🕯️ “What I’ll Never Forget About 2024” might draw memories of loss, protest, or awakening.
Each collection tells us something bigger than any single story could.
We invite you to join us on this journey, not just to preserve history, but to illuminate it. And who knows? You might even see your words alongside others in a published collection, anthem, or podcast.
Watch for our next call, and let your voice be part of the chorus.
