Once you submit your story to Stories We Remember, here’s what happens next:
✅ 1. Confirmation #
You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation that your story was successfully submitted. If you opted to save and return later, you’ll get a link to resume when ready.
📝 2. Review & Light Editing #
Our team carefully reviews each submission to ensure:
- It aligns with our mission of truth-telling and memory preservation
- It’s readable and well-formatted (we may lightly edit for clarity, grammar, or flow — never for meaning)
You retain full ownership and can request changes at any time.
📬 3. Attribution & Categorization #
If approved for publishing, your story will be:
- Credited using your first name, last initial, age, city, and region (unless you choose to remain anonymous)
- Categorized by Time Period, Voice, and Theme so others can explore related stories
🌍 4. Publication #
Your story is published in the Stories We Remember archive, where it becomes part of a growing library of lived experience. It may also be featured in:
- Our curated story collections
- Newsletter highlights
- Potentially adapted into a protest anthem or podcast (with your permission)
🔒 5. Long-Term Preservation #
Your story is regularly backed up and, in the future, will be preserved through the H.U.M.A.N. Project — a decentralized archive to protect against censorship, erasure, or digital loss.
